Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, accessing or using the GetDriving app or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use GetDriving, and you must be booking a driving test for yourself.

2. What GetDriving does

GetDriving helps learner drivers in Ireland find and book driving test appointments sooner than the dates the RSA offers by default. The service provides:

A live list of driving test slots we have seen become available
Push notifications when a slot appears at a test centre you have chosen
Automatic booking, in which we sign in to your RSA account on your behalf and book a test that matches the centres and dates you have selected
Automatic Login, an optional setup that keeps your RSA session alive so searching can continue without you reopening the app

Slots at the RSA are released and taken continuously and are often gone within minutes. GetDriving improves your chances of getting an earlier test. It does not guarantee one.

3. We are not affiliated with the RSA

GetDriving is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Road Safety Authority, MyRoadSafety, MyGovID or any government body. All test bookings are made through your own RSA account and remain subject to the RSA’s own rules, fees and cancellation policies.

4. Your RSA account and Automatic Login

Automatic booking requires you to connect your RSA account, using either MyGovID or MyRoadSafety. By connecting it you authorise us to:

Sign in to your RSA account on our servers, on your behalf
Read the test availability shown to your account
Reserve and book a test appointment matching the preferences you have set
Sign in again automatically when your RSA session expires, which the RSA does roughly every two hours

What you give us to connect your account is encrypted, is unreadable to us, and is decrypted only by the automated sign-in, only for the instant it is signing you in to the RSA. Sign-ins happen in a browser on our servers, not on your phone.

The RSA sends a six-digit code by SMS each time an account signs in. Automatic Login uses an iOS Shortcut, which you set up yourself and can delete at any time, to forward that code to the app so a sign-in can complete without you. The Shortcut sends the message it was triggered by; it does not give us access to your other messages, and we do not read them. If you do not set this up, you can enter each code by hand instead.

You may turn Automatic Login off at any time from the app, and you may disconnect your RSA account at any time.

5. Eligibility

To book a test through GetDriving, your RSA account must meet the RSA’s own requirements. In particular you must have an existing driving test application, an available service credit, and you must not be inside any waiting period the RSA applies after a recent test. We check these when you connect your account and will tell you if something is missing, but we cannot resolve them for you.

6. Payments

There are two separate products, paid for in different ways.

Automatic booking is a one-time payment of €95. There is no recurring subscription for it. It is processed by Stripe and subject to Stripe’s terms wherever you buy it, in the app or on our website. Stripe receives your card details directly; we never see or store them.

Slot notifications are a separate monthly subscription, bought through the Apple App Store at the price shown in the app and subject to Apple’s terms. It renews until you cancel it, which you do in your Apple Account rather than with us. It does not include automatic booking, and buying automatic booking does not include it.

Access is granted as soon as the payment is confirmed.

7. Refund Policy

Automatic booking is refunded by us. A refund may be issued if the service fails to book a driving test for you, provided all of the following are true:

Your RSA account had an available service credit throughout the period you were searching
At least 15 days had passed since your most recent driving test
You had an active search running, with your account connected and Automatic Login working, for at least 7 consecutive days without a test being booked
You had selected at least one test centre with realistic availability, and the full date range the app offers, which is today and the next five days

To request a refund, email us at info@getdrivingapp.com from the address on your account. We aim to respond within 5 working days. Requests are assessed against the criteria above.

Refunds are not given where a test was successfully booked, where the search was paused, disconnected or never started, where Automatic Login was not set up or stopped working and was not fixed, where your RSA account was not eligible to book, or where you changed your mind after the service had been provided.

The notifications subscription is refunded by Apple, not by us. Apple’s refund policy applies and requests are made directly to Apple through your Apple Account. We cannot issue, approve or refuse a refund for an App Store purchase, and it is cancelled in your Apple Account.

If a test is booked for you and you later cancel or miss it, that is a matter between you and the RSA. It does not entitle you to a refund from us, and any RSA fee is yours.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.

8. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

Give accurate account details, and reconnect your RSA account here if you change how you sign in to it
Use the service only for yourself and not for commercial resale
Keep the test appointment we book, or cancel it with the RSA in good time
Not attempt to interfere with, overload or reverse engineer the service
Not use the service for any unlawful purpose

If you change how you sign in to the RSA and do not reconnect your account here, automatic booking will stop working. Repeated failed sign-ins may cause the RSA to lock your account, which we cannot undo.

9. Availability and no guarantee

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, but we do not guarantee that a test slot will become available, that we will secure one, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error free. Availability depends entirely on cancellations made by other candidates and on the RSA’s own systems, which we do not control and which may change without notice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

Any test appointment we do not manage to book, or any delay in booking one
Any fee, penalty or charge applied by the RSA, including for a missed or late-cancelled test
Any loss of earnings, opportunity, or other indirect or consequential loss
Interruptions caused by the RSA’s systems, your device, or your network

Where we are found liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if your use puts the service or the RSA’s systems at risk, or if we reasonably suspect fraud. You can stop using the service at any time by disconnecting your RSA account and deleting your data, as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows when they were last revised. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction over any dispute.
